Journal of European Economic History

The Journal of European Economic History, the prestigious quarterly journal founded in 1972 by Luigi De Rosa, has started a new editorial series under the auspices of the ABI (Italian Bankers' Association) and is now published by Bancaria Editrice. The journal was discussed at a meeting held on 2 December 2014 in the charming Green Room of Palazzo Altieri (Rome). The meeting was devoted to the European Banking Union and involved ABI Chairman Antonio Patuelli, the Deputy General Manager of the Bank of Italy Fabio Panetta, the Director of the Journal Paolo Guerrieri and ABI General Manager Giovanni Sabatini. On 9 December the Luigi De Rosa lecture on Global History was held at the same venue by Tamar Herzog from Harvard University. The new historical archive is particularly important. It was created by Bancaria Editrice in conjunction with PRB, and brings together 500 articles and 1,000 reviews, which are freely available from a new website www.jeeh.it.

The Journal of European Economic History has started a new editorial series under the auspices of the ABI (Italian Bankers' Association) and is now published by Bancaria Editrice, the ABI’s own publishing house. In order to ensure the widest possible dissemination of the material published since 1972, Bancaria Editrice has created a complete historical archive, in conjunction with PRB, consisting of 500 articles and 1,000 reviews. To achieve this, they used their own digitizing technology and a PFU FUJITSU scanner. It is possible to register on the www.jeeh.it website to receive free newsletters about upcoming issues, conferences, calls for papers and other initiatives promoted by the journal.

Through the new website www.jeeh.it, all readers, scholars and anyone interested can access the archive freely and search by title, keyword, author, subject and geographical area. The Journal was founded by economic historian Luigi De Rosa in 1972. Since the beginning, its mission was to "tie up the threads of European economic history once more", both nationally and as concerns the European Economic Community, now the European Union.

The Journal has published over 500 articles and a thousand reviews in forty years with the support of a prestigious International Committee, thus gaining a reputation and worldwide audience. Over the years studies have been carried out and published on the relations between Europe and the rest of the world, the advance of globalization and the emergence of global history.
