The goal: bringing the Italian banking system up to the competitive level of the most efficient banks operating in the world, with Holistic Thinking and an eye to EXPO 2015.

Various opinion leaders described the international situation Italy finds itself in at the "holistic society" workshop, organized by PRB during FORUM ABI Lab, coordinated by Paolo Zucca (Deputy Chief Editor of Il Sole 24 Ore - Plus24).

Holism

A “holistic" system is one in which all the constituent elements are interconnected in perfect equilibrium. The result produced is greater than the sum of the performance of the individual factors.

Holism (όλος, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts) is an evolutionary phenomenon that is changing relationships for the better in our new global society. This is taking place through the extraordinary breach in the existing social tissue that is gradually opening a little wider every day and has now become an unrestrained consolidated trend thanks to the use of the World Wide Web. Lifestyles are integrated with a series of scientific and technological information and extemporaneous direct exchanges in our social life on the web. It is enough to consider social networks, which smooth the acceptance of new habits and new reference models. Our lifestyles change owing to effects and phenomena that arise in distant places on the planet. New technology and new communication tools help good, constructive knowledge grow culturally. This in turn gives rise to a single community without borders, which is aware it shares a common destiny in that it desires all ideas of progress and imagery of well-being. The widespread use of evolving technology creates this new social reality, a new extraordinary global nervous system: the "Holistic Society".

The approach of Milan Expo 2015 is a great opportunity to bring to light and compare the state of computerization of BPM processes in banks with the support of two authoritative international bodies, like Forrester and Gartner. From the Auditorium of Gruppo24ORE in Milan to FORUM ABI Lab, it emerged that the managers of the Italian baking sector are faced with a situation in which they can access the information they need to support strategic choices. It was shown how the software engineers at PRB (Progressive Redesign Benefit), a 100% Italian company, have improved and stabilized Business Process Management systems for banks (and not just for banks) over the past 35 years with a vision that makes them the world leader today.
